Love is Devastating. It simply is. Rumi quote paraphrasing aside. Love is the perfect example of a tangible intangible. Ridiculous. I know. But so are most emotions. But of course, through social construct, and chemical imbalances, Love takes the cake. There is beauty in that. Much like there is beauty in most things. It something unique in itself. Much like anything, Love is relative. It changes upon perspectives. What is really amazing is the amount, and types of love. It is everywhere. Literally. Look around. Everything around you was, is, will be created under the same motivation. Love. We romanticize this notion. But what we don�t know is that it quite possibly the worse thing ever in many ways. That is why is feel that love is a sickness.
When we think of the nice things in life. We think of the beautiful. A Sunny day. Children laughing. A nice dinner. A good movie. Laying in bed with someone. Sharing a laugh with someone. Meeting a nice guy. Impressing a pretty girl. That Cold drink of water on a hot day. When a pet greets you with excitement. The moment you said goodbye to good friends. When you finally finish a good book. Watching the sunset. The first time you saw the ocean. That song, or album that made you rethink what you thought about music. The moment you met someone special. As I am listing these things you are most likely remembering the times you have had these experiences. You are probably imagining things that are beautiful to you. Out of all those things. How many of them were love? When you read the list, Did you ever think: Oh, I loved that feeling. These feelings overwhelm us. They take over. This further exemplifies my point. It is a sickness
According to the increasingly diluted but still of academic merit Merriam-Webster dictionary, Sickness is defined as
: unhealthy condition of body or mind : the state of being sick
: a specific type of disease or illness
: the feeling you have in your stomach when you think you are going to vomit
Safe to say this absolutely defines what love is. Being in love is quite unhealthy. You cannot think straight. Everything you do from that point on is geared to where you have laid your affections. It seems love has two types of strains. Bacterial and viral. It seems, depending what the type of it is, to whom or what it may be for. It is as easy as taking an antibiotic, and ridding yourself of such a thing, but the effects of said thing will be long-lasting. Well deal with the scars or the effects of them. Or it is a virus that takes its toll. We can only try to treat the symptoms as our bodies will be the ones to finally expel them. We look back at that time, and have memories about them, but happy we overcame it.
Love is a sickness. It is devastating. To paraphrase a popular internet meme: One does not simply walk into love. You casually become, end up, sit, walk, what have you in love. You fall. You fall hard. You keep falling. You play with the notion by putting your foot over the edge every once in a while, then you fall. Every bit of, your entire body, goes over that cliff, and there is no way to climb back. The worst part is there only to ways to land. On your feet or hard. But the worst is to survive. As you fall and fall, you land hard. You reach the bottom of that cliff, and instead of dying you live. Broken, Mangled, without really knowing how you To stay in love is to constantly stay in a form of free falling. All you know is that, you miss the ride, and want to go again, but this know one to let you fall. People, fall out of love. They get disenchanted with that particular ride. the collect themselves, and land on their feet. They land on their feet. The other person may just land. But of course, people stay in love. It is a almost life long ride that ends end by landing hard. You reach the bottom. You die. But that�s okay because that ride was worth it. But of course who in their right mind jumps over a cliff knowing the result: Sick People
You have been sick before, and so have I. I don�t mean a flu or an infection. I mean in love. Whether it be a person or a thing. You absolutely love, what ever music you are listening to. You are absolutely In love with whatever show you are watching. A book, a show, song, piece of art, whatever it may be, yo love it and it gives you a full range of emotions, that if you applied it to anything else, people would think you are crazy. you may be, or have been in love. It is, or was, awful. It�s the only thing you thought about. It is the only thing that made any real sense. You were in a a unhealthy state of being. It was a specific illness you were experiencing, and those butterflies, I bet it was the feeling you have in your stomach when you think you are going to vomit. Love is devastating. It is a sickness that takes over us. Best part is, we cant get enough.
