DESCRIPTION
Another school assignment!

AUTHOR
Vianne-Marie Fortier
ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Sixteen.
Growing up too fast.
Poetry in motion, verses flying past her on the highway.
And she breathes in the air.
She can smell the perfume of decaying unpublished literature.
To her, it reminds her of home
And the Pennsylvania sunshine.
[June 2004]

Symphonic Ambition
Vianne-Marie Fortier

Slim fingers moved quickly along the keyboard
Sinewy hands followed the notes precisely as
The music played in her head
She knew the song by heart
She remembered it clearly in her mind
No mistakes would be made with this song
Digits followed the rhythmic pattern
Gracefully pounding the ivory keys with a musical sophistication
The composer was the man that had
Won her idolatry with his tune
From yesteryear
She finished the consummate performance immaculately
Taking a stand
Eyelids opened and she remembered
What stage she was standing upon
Surely the audition had gone well
