Quiz: Just How Normal are You?

Conforming to the standard or the common type; usual; not abnormal; regular; natural is the dictionarys definition for normal. To me, there is just absolutely no such thing as normal. Do people honestly thing that something that is considered normal is something that makes all the sense in the world? To me, the definition of a normal person is someone who you dont know very well. If you are sitting there telling yourself that doesnt make any kind of sense, you might want to rethink that. Its okay if you want to vocalize that you possess odd tendencies, but come on you know that you do. You might dance alone in your room while no one is watching or have some kind of secret obsession. I know and you know that there just has to be something. Well, if you arent willing to admit your obscure habits maybe this quiz will help you to understand just how abnormal you really are.
Here is the first scenario: You have just bumped into a stranger and begin to talk to him/her. As you begin talking you realize that they have a large piece of broccoli creviced into their teeth. You either,
a) Have a long debate in your head whether or not to tell them and after a few minutes of long hard staring decide not to. By the time you have finished this debate in your head, you have missed everything that person has tried to say to you and end up responding yeah to whatever they have said. You then decide you simply cannot to talk to that person anymore because you cannot handle looking at the large piece of fungus that is growing in between their two front teeth.
b) Have that same debate in your head but this time you decide to be more assertive and tell them. After you have told them that they do in fact have a piece of broccoli in between their teeth you feel uncomfortable because now you know they are uncomfortable. You absolutely know they are probably wondering how long it actually took you to tell them there was something there. They continuously keep checking their teeth to make sure it is all gone.
c) Tell them straight up and you dont think twice about it. There are no second thoughts, whats the problem with telling a complete stranger about the food chunk in their teeth? Who thinks about things like that anyway?
The human brain tires itself out by thinking so hard about what to say and what not to say and about the way we appear to other people. What about the way other people appear to us? For a long time we have been reading about other peoples lives. We do this with celebrities especially. We become so infatuated with other people that we act in crazy ways. Situation number two: You are walking down the street and you see Jude Law and Sienna Miller entering a small boutique around the corner. You,
a) Get really nervous because what if they actually see you looking like you do? You know they will probably remember you looking just like you did. This could be your big break and you need to look presentable. You cant just walk away and then they might not be there later. This could be your final chance.
b) Call as many people as you possibly can to come and see what you have discovered. While doing this you get about 10 more people just as excited as you are and have them all come down too. These are not just ordinary people, they are movie stars.
c) Act like nothing happened and continue on with your errands
A third thing to be addressed is our daily habits that we think are completely normal. Most people have some kind of daily routine. Here is the scenario: It is 7 in the morning and you wake up with an only hour before you have to leave the house and go to your appointment.
a) You freak out. There is not enough time even when you have two hours to get everything accomplished that you need to and now you only have an hour? You need to fry your hair to perfection until every single crease is out of it and get your make-up just right. If you even have one eyelash out of place you just absolutely know that your day will be ruined. You know you need to prioritize and your schedule might look like: hair, make-up and then maybe there will be time to breathe.
b) You know that you dont have much time so you must call many people to see what you should do. You run around the house like the world is coming to an end, and in fact to you, it just might be. You try to do more than one thing at a time because that will be the best method this morning. Eating while putting on your fire engine red lipstick, what a great idea you have had.
c) Take your time. One thing at a time. If everything doesnt get done and you dont look presentable you know that you will be okay and your confidence level will not have dropped what so ever.
Now, add up the number of As, Bs and Cs you have gotten. If you
got mostly Cs that is what I like to call denial. You have not yet admitted to yourself your strange habits and you have yet to come to terms with them. Dont worry someday you will realize have them too. If you got mostly Bs you tend to like to get everyone involved and create a lot of chaos then there needs to be. You might not think things through so clearly. Finally, if you got mostly As you tend to think a little too much sometimes. Not everyone acts that way when they see a movie star thinking that they might just be the next Tom Cruise or Jennifer Aniston and not everyone likes having chaos. Still, there is nothing wrong with the way that you might think.
Okay, so let me ask you this question again, what is normal? Normal to you might be completely different than normal to someone else. Is there really such a thing? Clearly there is not one particular thing that everyone does, so if everyone doesnt do it then how can it be normal? The truth is, it is normal to be abnormal. Trust me, everyone is doing it.
