Poetry For Seun

For Seun (7)

NOW A TWEENAGER

the crepuscular turn
to this 7 July
speaks volume of this day
a progression in figure,
a growth in psyche,
a monumental cross from teenagehood to tweenagehood:
once, a teenager; now, a tweenager!

For Seun (10)

MON AMIE (My Friend)

Friendship with the world is enmity with God
Friendship with God is enmity with Lucifer
Oluwaseunfunmi Opeyemi
I see rainbows ahead of us
The sight; imposing
Though not without dot patches.
Wed get there!

For Seun 11
MISSING YOU A THOUSAND TIMES

i swam
in a thousand rivers in Sahara,
trekked a thousand miles in the Atlantic,
won a thousand fights in the Den,
to try and see your face.

in Gods presence, while i prayed
in my reverie, while i soared far
in my bed, while i prepared to sleep
a thousand times i beheld your image.
each occasion; i missed the whole you

It was a thousand times.

For Seun 12

FOR THE THOUGHT OF YOU

the thought of you
makes me feel high
you are more than what money can buy.
how wonderful to think of you
now sweet memories abound bout you.
i dont have to fear
you dont appear fierce or weird.
now again i say a prayer
before God my hearts bare.
hope life love
awake in me as i carry:
the thought of you.

For Seun 16

WITH YOU!

I dont have
a chicken mentality
I live beyond
that locality
I move high
I soar high
I soar far so high
beyond the moment.
Accelerated momentum
takes us to a greater altitude
In these friendship, loveship.

Soaring high with you!
Its in this flightzoom
