My Island
Toni Jaquay Lynch

A far of place calls
to me.
A fantasy place I'll
never set foot on.
A young island. Fresh
and new.
Ripe with bounty, and
deep blue-green seas.
So deep I almost drown,
In their depths.
A longing fills my
heart.
A deep ache for this
forbidden place.
And I want to swim.
