Losing Battle
R Bennett Okerstrom

As darkness fell the thunder rolled
Through my eyes you see my soul
Burning hot yet icy cold
Now its time to pay the toll.

Fingertips as black as night
Blood red lips clasped oh so tight
Empty stares held without sight
For now its time to flee or fight.

A losing battle
You cannot win.
A losing battle
Prepare for sin.

As air grows stale and ghostly thin
No sign of truth a haunting grin
Abysmal groan from deep within
You call my name, again. Again.

Heaven waits, a lonely cry
In your head you ponder why
Life was good but still you sigh
All thats left hung out to dry.

A losing battle
You cannot win.
A losing battle
Prepare for sin.

A losing battle
You cannot win.
A losing battle
Prepare for sin.
