Traveling seems to be always interesting, new places, new people, new culture it is quiet difficult to explain that ecstasy.

It is nearly seven now, me and my family with the tour schedule to Kerala were in immense pleasure.

Its already seven, so everyone take your luggage and move to the bus, I heard this from my mom, and these words are enthusiastic. We then moved and we are now freely seated in our tourist bus. Our tour schedule is not simply the important places of Kerala, I am saying this because we are going to the deep forest of Kerala. So now let us move our journey towards Nagamalai.

We have our relations there so this is not going to be a forest camp and a tragedy trip inside the forest, instead it is well planed trip and we are going to enjoy it in our aunts house.

Here we go, our bus has started an interesting trip and it is nearly seven and a quarter. Now the bus has moved out of Tuticorin, the place we have started and our next target is to enter Thenkasi as soon as possible. This is because we should enter the hills before sun burns too much. We are all eager about the travel in the hills with thick green trees and white mist.

After these thoughts crossed, I slowly turned my mind on viewing through the windows. This seems to be quiet interesting trees, thorn plants all waved its leaves, it seems say good bye. Not only trees but also the small ponds, streams, small salt mountains (salt manufacturing is very famous in Tuticorin) and everything good seem to wish us a happy journey.

Now the time is two noon, I dont know how these hours passed so quickly, I think I might have slept for sometime. Anyway now we are in Thenkasi. This place is so hot, so we finished our lunch as quick as possible. Its already two and a half noon; we have to start our journey so that we can reach our target place by evening. So here we go towards the hill.

It seems to be so hot in Thenkasi but once we neared the hills I felled a slight chillness but now the situation is upside down because it is so cool now this made most of them in our bus to close their windows.

Rarely fifteen minutes passed, now the most awaited view appeared. Natives of that region rarely cared about that interesting view but the mist seems to be the most exiting thing for us in our life. We stopped the bus to feel the white cloud. Something is rare for someone, I thought, by the time another rare thing arrived, they seem to be a mere disturbance for the people around but these monkeys are another interesting view for us, this is because they did not harm us.

It is already three and a half now; we have to move immediately to reach the target by evening. But that didnt happen in the way, small water falls and rivers interrupted our move throughout our journey, but these are enthusiastic interruptions.
Then we saw people working in the rubber plantations. Rubber plantation and producing rubber based goods is a very important business of these areas.

After a long journey we are entering Nagamalai by seven in the evening. It is the coolest place I have visited. My aunt invited us with a good tea and then a delicious dinner. The whole area around us is very beautiful fully surrounded by trees, plants and flowers and a fresh cool air too. This seems to be the happiest day in my whole life, sitting under the tree on the richest hilly soil, enjoying the fresh cool air, chatting with my family, this is really amazing.

Shhhhhhhhh., its eleven now, please excuse me I am feeling very sleepy so see you in the morning.

Very Good Morning readers, I am very fresh now after a hot water bath. Oh! its very late, we are about to have a adventure. Yes, I swear it would definitely be a great adventure because I am going to take you all inside the forest. Ok, Now we all are set to have a good walk inside the forest with long cane in everyone's hands.

Before that I would like to give some information about this place. Nagamalai is a hilly region in Kerala with dense forest and streams. Rubber plantation is the main occupation of the people here, most of the people depends on rubber plantation and manufacturing, other than this tea plantation gains more importance.

Now back to our journey, we have just now passed a small stream where we played for half an hour and then passed through some rubber trees and we are walking along a small road where on the left I am able to see only trees and nothing else and on the right some big rocks as we are climbing up walking seems to be very difficult. Now they are all climbing over the rock and I should follow them otherwise it would be very difficult to find some way out of here. The sweet smell of the flowers and the fruits attracted us towards them. We then started collecting some fruits. There are many fruits which we could hardly guess its names and the only thing I could guess is the jack fruit but all the fruits are yummy good. Our collections are over, we have to move back home now because we had enough fun and walk and no one is willing to climb up now after a long walk and as we guessed our journey down the hills is not that much difficult as climbing up. It is ten past seven, we all are set for nice dinner it is roti and spicy chicken kuruma made of spices and coconut milk and after that a glass of lemonade.

Good morning again, I think the day doesnt seem to be a lucky day as it began to rain heavily just before some ten minutes and so we are going postpone out trip to Thenmalai dam if it rains throughout. It is already noon and rain doesnt seems to stop and we have already postponed the trip as it would be slippery everywhere, so better luck the next day.

This morning seems to be bright and yesterdays rain has completely washed the trees and the road and the little stream that could be seen from the house now seems to be like a small river but I can conclude that everything is all right now. We are all now ready to take over the trip to the dam. Before that a small information People here mostly prefer to walk instead of using vehicles even for certain long distances and the most used here is the government buses and private jeeps, both are more comfortable for traveling and there are many small and beautiful temples around here which we can travel only by jeeps and these travels would be very pleasant both for the body and mind. Ok, coming back, we are about reach the dam and we had a pleasant experience by traveling through the woods in a jeep.

This dam is situated at Thenmalai which is some forty five minutes travel from Nagamalai. Here they are not allowing cameras inside and so we are going only with some snacks and water. we have to walk for nearly fifteen minutes to get the clear view of the dam and it is very beautiful, fully covered by mountains and dense trees. As this is the last day of our tour we all have want to spent more than two hours in this place. So our next target is to reach the tea factory within half an hour. This traveling seems to be adventurous because the road here is very small and most of the people here prefer to walk in shortcuts other than using any vehicles and these shortcuts goes through the rubber and tea plantations.

Now we are in the tree factory, the aroma here makes us feel healthy. They invited us with a cup of tea, as our uncle is the supervisor here we already got the permission to see this place. The processing of the tea leaves using machineries seems to be very interesting and at last they separate the first second and third quality tea. I decided to get some first quality tea from here, it is somewhat bigger than the normal tea granules and the second quality is smaller than this and the third is the tea dust. Now it is time for us to pack up , we all are now in the jeep to return to Nagamalai with hearts heavy to leave this beautiful place.
