Fading Away
M Q Walters

Feels like Im just fading away,
A little more of me everyday.
I try to hold it together , but I fail,
Glimpses of me fading into my own hell.
I drift sometimes to dream, a restless sleep,
Clarity and unity, even there I cannot keep.
I live within this prison Ive made,
Glancing mirror images of me, I fade.
I sought not fortune or fame of life,
Longed for peace and not as much strife.
Searching my heart and soul to see,
Wondering who could save me from me.
And more today than even yesterday,
I see the colors of myself just fading away.
