Sitting in the cafe window, the tears stream down her face.
Her beautiful porcelain skin, streaked with black mascara.
Her listick smeared across her face and her heart in pieces.
His words echoed in her mind like a nightmare.
Cancer!
Funny how the whole world can fall apart with a simple word.
He said it with such a careless attitude that it scared her.
Maybe he had come to terms with it but she hadn't.
She was going to lose him for good and that was too much!
How could he have just said it to her like that.
Blunt!
How could he live with himself?
Soon he wouldn't be living at all and her eyes filled with tears again.
The sharp pain of tears lodged in her throat and stopped her dead.
There would be a time when she would have to move on.
but not yet, not until he was gone and that was a long way away.
Short.
She saw the flashing lights first and then heard the sirens.
There was a lot of hustle near the door and she strained to see.
The floating feeling happened again, this time itwas nicer.
The bright light was shone in her eyes almost blinding her and then one word.
Dead!
