Dark Winter
Alberto Pupo

When the breeze dies down
And eternity comes to a halt
Leaves converted from green to brown
Winter takes the blame obvious fault

Underneath an ancient tree
Gazing at the incoming storm
A prisoner trying to break free
Mired in sadness forlorned

Wrestling with many a question
yet unable to stumble upon an anwser
Trying to attain completion
Looking for something that matters

Restless needing to sleep
Weary battle worn
Beginning to weep
For the body and mind remain torn

Now darkness overcomes all
Winter arrives farewell to the Fall
