Clever Conversation, A Collection Drexler McStyles
Sly in the movements
Careful, but quick with the tongue
In the elements of a rotating grip,
Is where her intentions are sung.
A comment made to lower the boom
And a reply to reveal the bruise
I let loose of some sarcastic treasure,
That I cant afford to lose
I continue to smirk,
As my intentions split her spleen
And a comment slips away,
About the girl in the magazine
A tail with a point
And an idea that has none
A bright spot that reflects,
Like a broken mirror in the sun
I escape with a spin,
That rattles my rusted cage
But my final empty offering,
Is a symbol of our age.
I am gone
Borrowed Time
"If we never meet in this life,
let me feel the lack
A glance from your eyes
and my life will be yours"
Simplicity
Truth
Not exactly commonplace
But I strive to integrate them
and try to understand why the outside world does not
How these fingers once moved like shadows across your skin
How long ago it seems
Time is cruel
It erodes the present
Glorifies the past
Dooms the future.
I have searched for you,
In the night
You are off someplace where I am not, shining brilliantly.
During the day,
Your face amongst a million,
Stands apart, and I, alone
Cannot see it
In my dreams
It is you who watches I
Have you felt my yearning?
Do you recognize my pain?
Will you ever fill this emptiness?
If we never meet in this life
I at least have felt the wholeness of you
You have brought the smiles, tears, ecstacy, defeat and every moment that has ever
mattered
To share with you a smile
I would gladly give my life
I already have
That One Night
Soft, scattered points of light, symbolize
this madman's halo
Showcasing my ripe, yet, forbidden fruit,
with a state of grace usually reserved for angels
A messenger arrives with the best of intentions
and I wish a kiss could be given during a frozen moment in time
So that no penalties would be assessed
and this destiny could be fulfilled
As it should be
