A Lost Conscience
Eric Richards

I lost my way, what can I say
I'm sorry now
Her tounge so sweet, lined with deceit
There was no way around
You could say I'm losing sleep
Would you say I'm in too deep?
When I can, I'll make my stand
By then you might be too proud

When my conscience bends, I'll make amends
I'll meet you there
Bewitching taste of danger, no feeling ever stranger
Her body soft and bare
I'm shaken by the sting of pride
I'm shaken by images stuck inside my mind
I could shake them if I try

In a loss of self control, couldn't let her go
I let it come between
I took her with anger, and sometimes I hate her
Despite how it seems
I'm learning how to make it right
Yet yearning for one more night
Of her tender scream

If I play this wrong, the old days are gone
And the new ones are bleak
I know wrong from right, damn my fuckin pride
Lust is so bitter sweet
I'll tell her to move on
I just hope when she's gone
I can still look you in the eye
