Fistful Love
Muhammad Asif Hanif

Time is passing --------and I have not yet decided to write to you or
not. There has been fog since morning . I remained in my room watching
magazines and newspapers. I have taken tea several times. Its quite
unusual but sometimes this type of irregularity seems to be good. There
is a lush green field in front of my window. It seems like the lawn
where we used to play. You always played for win. Tell me-----have I
ever defeated you.

During my college days, you always asked for my studies. Whenever I
went to meet my friends you stopped me. You always advised me like my
mother. One day you may remember----------you told that you had some
dreams about my position and status. You dreamed me as a highly
successful man. How can i be successful without you. I wanted to feel
proud of me. Now I have done what you want but you are not with me to see what i
have done.

When I started to work hard, your appreciation and encouragement eased
my way. Your visits to my house were like a teacher but I was happy to
see you and talk to you. Do you remember my result day when you said,
"This is the biggest occasion in my life". "How is it yours?"I checked,
"Is your success not mine" you replied instantly and smiled. I still
remember that smile and will never forget it. On that day, I really
started to love you very much-----------very much.

Sometimes it also happened when I did what you want me to do although I
didn't like it. When you realized, I had been in love with you, you
said, "Please do not meet me till your Engineering". "Whats wrong
with my Engineering?" I replied. "I am afraid it can affect your
studies" No No-------, I tried to convince you that you remained a
motivation factor in my life and I needed you. But you were determined,
as usual, you won that time also. You stopped to come to my home and my
family thought that your family may stopped you.

One day when there had been drizzling since morning and when it stopped
you came out of your house and started walking on road. I took my
bicycle and offered you to have a ride with me. You were looking me after
a long time and may be for that reason you accepted my offer. You asked
to take a route at the backside of our houses where no one goes
normally. That road was damaged and due to that beautiful reason, your
head struck lot of times on my chin. Was there any thing wrong from my
side? That was the last time I saw you and I felt you in reality.

I do not know what was done wrong by me that your father got job
abroad. Before your departure, you came nearer to me and just kept on
watching me for a while. You said nothing but I understood what you
want to say. That time I wanted to say everyone that I could not live
without you. But I though It was premature. I can take you from
anywhere. I thought I would send my parents to your home after my
Engineering. I was wrong that time-------Yes I was wrong! ---or God may
wanted to do else. Last night your father called us that he had engaged
you with his friend's son. Before my mother could say anything about you
and me, he invited us to come and join your marriage ceremony on
20th of this month. Three days are left and I am still with fist.
