Humid, sticky, moist, and barely tolerating the New York City July weather, they stood side by side on the 85th floor of the empire state building. Overlooking the entire lower Manhattan, on a clearer day the building had a view that could match just beyond the sea foam green Statue of Liberty.

�My bus leaves in 30 minutes, we better start heading toward Port Authority�

She gave him a quick nod in compliance. A huge lump sat on the back of her throat as if the feeling of eaten too much peanut butter too quickly. The discomfort of the iron ton she carried on her chest that day more than intolerable.

Slowly moving counter clockwise, the buildings fenced boundary now faced her side as a weak attempt to shield herself from his gaze.

�Every relationship I have ever endured has been entirely unfaithful�

She managed the one word-sounding sentence to escape from its daylong presence in the middle of her throat.
Although she could not see it, she felt his eyes press tightly and his bottom lip fade white from the pressure of his perfectly aligned two front teeth. A translucent tear slowly traveled down his manicured face, fading before ever being seized by the tourist mauled concrete floors.
