Can't Let Him Go
Nicky Rothschild

Head bowed down with my eyes cast down low as I walk in the sizziling heat of the summer.
Today wasn't suspose to be to hot, if there wasn't going to be any humidity which of coarse was.
My almost black hair with blond stricks was in a high messy but attractive ponytail with only two
strands down casting my brown eyes which was covered with dark shaded sun glasses.
My hands were in my jean pockets in the front of my faded blue jeans that go down to my black skater
shoes. Today I was wearing a white blouse with short sleeves that fit perfectly with my hour glass cruve frame.
Today was the day I have to pick up my little sister from school.

As I neared the almost desereted campus with the American flag on it's pole in the middle of the front part of the school.
The paint of the school seemed to become yellowish with age some what looked almost new.
"Nicky!!!" I heard a loud shril screech of my sister calling at the office of the school. "Nicky! Over here! Over here!"
She screams over and over with her little chuby hands waving in the air. Swiftly, I turned to the right walking on the sidewalk
towards the school's main office. Where my sister was located.

She was sitting on the red bench with her legs open like a man would sit. She was raised by a man after all. Not like me for my
mother had raised me. Her light brown hair was a mess with her brown eyes looking up to mine as a dog would, beging for a peice
of food. She was wearing a yellow shirt that didn't hide the fact she was over weight and her shorts of the color purple showed
off to much of her fat thighs. She was also wearing red heels that had sparkles on them. Anything, she did not match but that doesn't
matter. For what matters is to take her home and to hit my math homework from Mr. Korpan.

"Get up, Koren." I said in a millow type of a tone; not wanting to start a fight out here in the public for all to witness. Koren just sat
there, dumb strucked as if she didn't hear the command I had given her. "Now." I said almost like a hiss from fruastraions. Why doesn't she
listen to me? I sometimes wonder on that or well I knew but just didn't want to admit to that. My sister will only listen to dad, thinking he is
always right and not me because I was raised by mom. I know that sounds stupid but that is what she has told me from time to time.

"Ok." She finally says as she gets up with a little trouble but I just stand there, not going to help her at all. She is so embarresing, her physical
and mentaly features are so disterbuing to me. Well, that is enough of that. Back to the story...

We walked half way from the school to finally cross the street with no problem for it was to early to have traffic at school. Silence has grown ackward but
I shall keep my mouth shut. I seriously do not want to start a fight out here where someone might see. At last the silence was broken but by words, thank god
for that. For it was broken by my cellphone with a ringtone of a song called What You Know by T.I.. It was my man, my boyfriend, the love of my life. I can keep
going on but I do not want to bore you with it so on with the story!

"Hello." I said with a smile planted on my face as my left hand waved my sister off to walk by herself.

"Hey, mija." My boyfriend says then, "What are you doing?" My boyfriend always seems to call me his mija for some strange reason.

"Oh nothing, really. Just walking with my sister to go home." I stated matter factely. Hey, it was true.

"Oh...well I have something to say to you." He coughs on the phone. "I can't be with you anymore."

At those words my world stoped, at those very words my heart started scream out in pain. What is happening?! Why is he breaking up with me? Has he stoped loving me or
something? Those thoughts has run through my mind as water of sour tears grew and threaten to spill out of my eyes. I was trying to speak, trying to make out a word but I
couldn't even do that. For it had hurt that badly. "Wh-what?" I finally choke out in aguny.

"Mija, I can't be with you anymore. What if your father finds out about us?"

Anger started to rise as long with despair while my body shook of a incoming of sobs. "He won't! I told you that! He won't dare find out. Or well he will but that will be to
late for him to do anything. He can't do anything once I turn 18! So he won't find out, I told you that already." I nearly screamed on the phone as I stoped walking by a cross walk.

"He will, I know he will. I will go to jail for being with you, you are to little for me. I don't want to get hurt."

"He won't! I swear to you he won't! When he finds out he can't put you in jail for it will be to late! I promise you that and you won't get hurt!" I choked out those words through a sob.
The tears had finally won the battel and started to spill out.

Silence was taken up on the phone as all I hear on the other line was a sigh. "Are you crying?"

A cruel laughter leaves my lips. "What you think." I said as tears kept coming as the eyeliner I had on starts to run from the water my eyes are creating.

"Why?" He asks, as if he did not know. As if he actully did not know!

"You should know why." I simply stated. I wanted to say something else but couldn't. Voice in my head as screaming it over and over again as if it was echo in a cannon. "You had broken my heart,
riped it in peices then burned it! That is why I am crying! Don't you see how much I love you?! I love you so much that the thought of losing you kills me!!! Why don't you get that?!" Was what the
voice in my head was screaming. He sighs again on the phone. "Mija, I don't want to hurt your feelings."

He didn't want to hurt my feelings? Hurt my feelings? Well I think that was a bit to late to say that for he has and has broken my heart. Oh he had so done more then just hurt my feelings! I had actully
saw a future for me and him! He had told me he wanted to marry me, so I was actully looking foward to my future! It had given reasons to live! To live the life I am living to this very day and he only thinks
he has hurt my feelings?!

"I told you he won't find out!" I cried out once more in aguny. Silence once more taken tole on the converstations. My heart was breaking more and more as the slience kept growing. "Ok, we will talk about this later.
I love you so much. I am so sorry, I am just scared."

Sighing, I nod my head even though he can't see me doing this. "Ok, and I know you are scared and I love you too." I said as the ahces in my heart had stoped. Maybe after all, this isn't the end of my realationship with the
only man that I had ever loved. "Bye, mija. I love you." A smile slightly spreads on my face. "I love you too, bye."

As I started to walk, in my mind I went through that conversation. In my mind I was making a plan to make sure I will not lose my man. For he is my everything and I shall lose everything if I lose him. I love him so much so I will
never let him go without a fight. He is my past, present, and future and the love of my life. He is my boyfriend and the very man I had fallen in love with but can't let my parents know about for he is 4 years older then me and they'll
put him in jail if the find out. I will die if I lose him, so therfore I shall find a plan to keep my man and his love.
For he is after all my future and I can't let him go without a fight.
