ABOUT THE AUTHOR
I'm thirty nine, recently single again. I have two boys Cli' (pronounced clee) Real name Christopher and Mark. I'm a care in the community nurse and formerly (when I was married) an occupational Therapist working with the mentally ill on a secure unit. I love reading and writing and meeting people. I hate offal, seafood and intolerance. I keep dog, cat, polecats, rats and reptiles. And for seven years ran the second largest reptile sanctuary in Britain. Apart from having my lads, I think that's probably the most worthwhile thing I've ever done. Writing wise, I've been the main fiction writer for Legends magazine for three years. And have two books published 'Lizard's Leap' published by Quillusers, and 'Better the Devil You Know' soon to be released by Bestbooks.Um I drive a knackered old Astra, and ride a two litre trike. I live in the lake district of England, and am happy. :-)

I've Always Wanted To Write... But!
Sue (Sooz) Simpson

Which particular string of words would I use to stop the atrocities of war, of hunger, of disease?

How would I arrange the letters, syllables, words to make people lay down their arms, to make them realise that there is room for everyone. For many religions, many creeds, colours, and peoples in this vast world of ours.

How can I write clean the filth, and squalor and decay.

The emptiness from the eyes of someone who has hit the bottom, The pain in those eyes that scream I cant go on.

I can write on a page Homes for all but will then the homes appear without taking yet more of our pillaged and raped countryside. I can write Food for all but will then the crops grow green and lush in the drought-ravaged earth.

Im working a night shift, listening to the Mumbles from the Madhouse. The day is but four hours old, you would expect quiet. But a lady repeats monotonically, over and over again...Maammmmmmmm mmmaaaaa mmmmmaaaaaaammmmmmaaaa mmmmaaaaaaaammmmaaaaa Is she calling for her mother to take her from this web of misery. Or is she making the only sound that her poor addled mind has left her with, trying it over and over all day, all night, not daring to sleep, not daring to put the sound away, lest this last remaining thread of communication also be taken from her.

People wailing, crying, shouting out Help me. Help me please What nightmares roam their rooms, their minds, keeping them from the sweeter dreams of sleep. What words could I write to help them?

Show me please how to re-arrange the anagram of letters that would stop people beating the innocent children. For they beat into them a loss of that innocence, so that those children grow into damaged adults and in turn beat the innocent children of the world.

Tell me how to erase with the written word, a mothers heartache when she has lost a child to death. A child who should never have left before her.

Teach me please, how to write to the schoolyard bully. Give me the words to show him that to begin preying on the weak and insecure at the age of six is wrong. That to do so is the start of a long and slippery slope of doling out sorrow to others by forcing his more powerful personality upon them. Give me please the words to show him compassion.

The words, to do all these things, would be words of such worth. Priceless writings to be given out freely to all people to make a difference in their lives.
Is it possible to write away peoples pain? Peoples misery? Peoples ignorance? No! But if everyone wrote a positive thought every day. Wrote a letter to a friend, wrote a few words of love to make someone feel wanted. Or even wrote away their anger and bitterness, in therapeutic purging. If they wrote a card to a neglected loved one, just wrote words of HOPE. Wouldnt that make a difference?

Ive always wanted to write ...AND....todays the day I start!

"Thanks Mary. Is there anything you would like me to review? " -- Sooz, Dalton, England, Cumbria.
"Gary Robsons Review: ***Wow. That's deep for so early in the morning grin. The sentiment is good. The words are very good. You use a lot of evocative phrases. The punctuation and sentence structure need a lot of work. Here are some examples:*** ...there is room for everyone. For many religions, many creeds, colours, and peoples in this vast world of ours. ***Since the second part of this is a sentence fragment, why not attach them with different punctuation instead of breaking it there? Also, what does "peoples" mean in this context?*** How can I write clean the filth, and squalor and decay. ***Either a comma or an "and" after filth, but not both. And shouldn't this end in a question mark?*** ...someone who has hit the bottom, The pain in those eyes... ***If you're using a comma, don't capitalize the next word.*** I can write on a page Homes for all... ***Should be a comma after "page." This applies in several other places as well.*** ...Help me please What nightmares roam their rooms... ***Need a period after please, and a comma before it.*** Is it possible to write away peoples pain? ***"Peoples" should be "People's."*** " -- Cam Davis.
"Thank you for your time and trouble. Thanks Cam. " -- Sooz, Dalton-in-Furness, England, Cumbria.
