.:What Would Washington Say?:.
Tamera Huntley

What would Washington say,
If he could see the world today?

There are hundreds of fatal disease,
homeless, who in winter freezes.

Kids selling crack, heroine and cocaine.
The murder rate is insane.

Mothers killing children.
People committing all kinds of sins.

Polititians seem to only lie and cheat,
but never go down in defeat.

We have a right to pursuit of happiness,
but don't lose your job or you'll be a mess.

We go to war to make peace,
and have all kinds of treaties.

Family tend to be single parent.
Quality time seems never spent.

Kids are being forced to grow up too fast.
Their childhood will never last.

They get into gangs, to have "family"
but they don't see

What they are doing to their lives,
They never seem to strive.

What would Washington say,
if he could see the world today?

Would he change the laws?
Would he see all the flaws?

What would he say about all the pollution?
What would he say about all the irritations?

What would he do about all the greed?
Would he think there are a bunch of bad seeds?

What would he do about babies born with addictions?
or all the ones with afflictions?

What would he do about poverty?
Would he know those people can never truly be free?

What would he do about the over crowded prisons?
What about people who are locked up for no reason?

What would he do about crime?
What about criminals who never do time?

What about the kids who get neglected?
and the ones the parents have rejected?

What would Washington say,
if he could see the world today?

Would he say the world hasn't changed much?
Would he say that people have lost their touch?

Would he say that parents need to take more control?
or would he say time has taken it's toll?

Would he say that laws need to adapt?
or would he just laugh?

Would he say it was easier back then?
or would back in time, would people he send?

What would he do?
Would he say life is over and through?

Should everybody hang their heads in shame?
Sould life be treated like a game?

What would Washington say?
if he could see the world today?
