Granddad passed down his photo book,
The one of long ago,
With pictures of our roots (wooah)
Did this family grow,

I noticed the old farm house,
A well, a field of corn,
As I looked real close,
I spotted grandma against barn,

On her neck a gleaming locket,
Warm face with surprised look,
That I never would have seen,
If it wasn't in this book,

There's pictures of calm meadows,
Tall waving fields of grass,
With mountains all around,
Presenting more viewed detailed past,

By a willow stood my mother,
Soft hair blowing, in the wind,
Up to a point, In those days,
She'd be considered pencil thin,

Since this family photo,
Much has changed since then,
Still wonderful to know,
Where we all begin

I glanced at my great Aunts,
That long ago passed on,
Funny what can make you weak,
Can some how make you strong

Our tradition shall be carried,
Hopefully for years to come,
This photo book can't be replaced,
For there only is the one.
