A Choreographed Breakfast
Colin Baker

In the couple's presence
- face as proud as lightning -
she hums away, beats
sweet time, eats kiwi
- her Breakfast
in America -
as the wall
clock shows 09 -15,
arms spread,
as if poised to applaud.
But doesn't this girl know?
Doesn't the clock know?
The guy's on the dole!
As for his love there, she's a
bloody bored housewife!
Music and rhythm
may be trivial to them.

DISCLAIMER: STORYMANIA DOES NOT PROVIDE AND IS NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR REVIEWS. ALL REVIEWS ARE PROVIDED BY NON-ASSOCIATED VISITORS, REGARDLESS OF THE WAY THEY CALL THEMSELVES.

"I don't think being a housewife or being on the dole necessarily hampers an enjoyment of music ... but this did make me smile. Only a few words to it but the imagery is really strong. " -- Sooz, Barrow, Cumbria, England.
"Thanks, Sooz. I agree, it need not hamper one's enjoyment but 'trivial' is the key word here. It does not imply an absolute rejection of the arts as such, but merely a prioritising. Under different conditions, priorities may well shift... " -- Colin Baker.
