Olef Ransom Saulles

I trust not the least of instincts.
Rather, flash!, and well endowed;
Charging bull fragments, discarded fat the proverbial jewels.
Aye! The butcher bellows.
Swarm and fervor
Stabbing laughter
The least instinct
Twitch and compromise
Their fault is acquiescence
I awaken in soiled rags sticky with salt, vomiting peppered food
My clothes and skin the same filth.
But I see and I cry.
I cry relentlessly because it is so.
God has and continues to whisper in my ear.
A sigh, larger, more disappointing than before breaches the surface (like exhaling under water)
I cannot cease from crying
I am writing to my intended
We have not even met
It is frightfully clear to me
She is too easily impressed
Here I lie
Trembling and stuttering.
Tenderly
Like an infant suckling
I shift my glance toward you
Raise my tongue with heightened cries
Fierce melee
Sincere repentance
A barrel of words
Empty, dry
Split wood bound in creaking pain
I cannot take your stifling rhetoric, youthful cliches
I need nourishment,
A bathing of limbs
To feel fresh faced
To smell good
Like silk woven
Strands of light burst forth from the pitch
Lingering
as the scent of yesterdays affair
And
The hollows ring with anxiety
"Let the drinking begin"
I, unadulterated, have been spent
Carried on shoulders only slightly broader.
A word slips by me
dangling
I attempt to retrieve its aura
That we may not meet this way again
Has been with me as dawn
When I rise without regret
Bathing crisp in waters bed
So let me steal another kiss
Please
Wade in your embrace
Linger for a moment at the crest of your ear.
Your mothers home is not so far and we may visit (whenever she needs)
