Insignificance
P J Francis

It is quiet where I stand
the quietness echoes like thunder.
The unseen hands,
pull me under.
It is dark
and I gaze with unseeing eyes,
for lonliness makes it mark,
like great scratches in the sky
of all the emptiness I am shown.
I feel so small and weak.
A great wind has blown,
making me feel humble and meek.
Of what do I owe my life?
Lucky was I born
my world is full of fights and strife,
and battles that keep me torn.
