Drawing Upon Examples Of Depository And Non-Depository Institutions, Explain The Process Of Financial Intermediation And Its Importance In The Provision Of Liquidity In The Financial System by Abhijeet Singh Drawing upon examples of depository and non-depository institutions, explain the process of financial intermediation and its importance in the provision of liquidity in the financial system Every economy and financial market has its own shortcomings in regards to employment of funds. The prosperity and equilibrium of a financial market is determined by the allocation of surplus. In a huge market, most participants are unaware of others, and therefore it is crucial to have an intermediary system that will reallocate funds from the surplus areas to the places where funds are actually in demand. This gives mobility and liquidity to financial markets. Among all other participants, the role of financial intermediaries is played by the depository and non depository institutions. While the depository institutions borrow money for the surplus possessing individuals and businesses to lend money to others in need, non depository institutions dont take direct borrowings but use other methods to gather funds and lend them to borrowers. The function of both kinds of the institu... [1,916 words]

Staring Out The Window

People often wonder where they belong, what they should do next, and who they should trust. This world is full of twist and turns, plans fall apart and people hurt those whom they care about the most. We tend to stare out the windows in our homes and even our vehicles which we are riding in. Movies teach us that, to dramatically look out of the window when a slow song comes on or when youre in deep thought. We look at what is around us and always wonder what life would be like if the grass was blue and the sky blue. Meaning what it would be like if everything was different.

We are taught as children to grow up with a wild imagination, when once we hit that certain age, its nothing but a disappointment that you really arent a princess living in a tall tower waiting for your prince. In reality we are putting ourselves out there then getting hurt by people we thought were our prince. But its not all about the perfect guy or girl. Its about you. Youre the one who makes your decisions and youre the one who lets people you know will hurt you in your life. Not only will a boy or girl hurt you, but people you trusted. Now I am not saying that people are all trash like Sigmund Freud thought, because I dont think that. We are equally the same in Gods eyes.

Movies teach us more than we realize. Our parents help shape us into the people they want us to be, which sadly isnt always the person we want to be. Movies show us this world of adventure and taking chances. Books do the same, everyone loves a happy ending. Which isnt reality in everyones cases. We grow up wanting to be doctors and astronauts, and dreaming about getting married to the perfect man or woman. Of course dreams can turn into a reality. But plans can fall apart in matters of seconds. Tragedies happen, and confusion. Do you really think you can plan your entire life out, and expect it to happen that exact way? No, I am a sixteen year old girl and I know this.

Psychologist say that we as the people of the world like to blame the victim. Meaning when a girl gets raped or a man gets shot, its because they automatically brought it upon themselves. That it wouldnt be normal if a man raped a helpless woman for no reason. We never blame the person who assaulted them unless one of our friends, family members, or even race are the ones assaulted. In my belief that is a tiny part of the reason Freud considers us trash. But he believes we are full of anger and with true freedom we wouldnt be more civilized than we are now, but worse. A fiction movie, The Purge is the perfect example, even though it is fake, it makes us think about what we would really do with that freedom.

Once again a movie can affect our lives. If the government made a day where there would be no rules, people would do the exact same on The Purge, kill people, steal, and do as many illegal things as possible. Would we do this exact same thing if we had never seen that movie? In my opinion, no. But its movies, and shows like that, that make the big money. I love movies personally, but without movies, tv shows, or even social media, would we be different than the people we are today. Psychologists, some at least, believe yes, that would we be more civil because we wouldnt be getting these bad ideas.

Then you have to wonder why people were the way they were before tv. The racism, and the more powerful people treating the lower people horribly, where did they get that from? Is Freud right? Are we horrible people naturally? Theres no factual answer for that question, only opinions. But it makes you think about us as a whole, and yourself. Are you driven by anger? Do you have those horrible thoughts toward other people? You cant lie to yourself.

Think about who you are, and who your family, friends, and acquaintances are. If you were a different race, or from a different culture, or even gay, would they treat you differently? Would you treat them differently if they were different? We become the people we are today because of the people we are around, the things we watch, even the things we learn. So keep staring out that window, and dream about a perfect world with flowers every where with people holding hands and singing. But sooner or later itll get dark or the car ride will be over and youll have to come back to reality. But after you think about the perfect world, dont just say oh well when you realize it cant happen. Step up and make a difference in real life. We can hold hands if we stop living our lives like movies and being judgmental. Be who you want to be.
